opened in 2019.
Collaborating with Merlin Entertainments and Gardaland Resort, Italy, I joined the hotel project team early on to creatively develop concept designs for the new resort Hotel.
A narrative style was created around a Wizard's out-of-control magic. This lead to us creating a variety of different themes and adventures throughout the resort, with snowy areas, beanstalks, mushrooms and the enormous hat itself as a photo opportunity right by the entrance.
I created themeing styles for the main exterior appearance of the Hotel, flowing from the giant Wizard's hat in a magical garden complete with dancing fountains.

the Gardaland Magic Hotel consistently receives high praise and Tripadvisor's Travellers' Choice award, recognizing it as a top-rated family hotel for its immersive magic themes, clean rooms, and excellent service, with guests highlighting the enchanting decor, themed puzzles, and convenient free shuttle to the park.
The Trip Advisor award is recognition for consistently receiving great reviews, which ranks The Magic Hotel in the top 10% of properties for overall quality.
It's very satisfying that guest feedback frequently mentions the magical immersion of the themeing throughout all areas - even the lifts! And the interactive puzzles which keep children entertained; further highlighting the family-focussed fairy-tale atmosphere which we created.
